  • losing weight but...

hey guys. im hoping you can give me your opinion on what im doing wrong.. i have been on a diet for about 4 months now. i have lost about 25-30 pounds but i dont notice anything really on my belly. im afraid it was all muscle!! my diet is not crazy , i dont eat fast food anymore, i try not to eat atleast 3-4 hours before bed.. cut alottt of sugar / soda / candy / frozen foods. i try jogging a couple miles 2-3 times a week. i do abs about 3-4 times a week before bed.. obviously im not doing enough to lose inchs off my belly but why am i losing all this weight? someone told me before its water weight but seriously i drink 5 + bottles of water daily at the minimum.. what should i doooo? help please.. i know there are alot of you out there with crazy ripped abs and im hoping you can drop some knowledge on me.

    thx!

calculate your BMR and eat that plus a couple hundred calories eat 6 or 8 meals a day fasted cardio in the morning for 30 to 40 minutes keep heart rate under 130 bpm the whole time (this is cardio for fat lose not the heart ) resistance training 3 to 5 time a week and 30 minutes cardio just like the am cardio right after the workout. Works for everybody who really tries it. No carbs for the last two meals before bed eat last meal about an hour before you go to sleep.

about the bmr though.. if i eat couple hundred more.. for example mine is 1991, say 2000, wouldnt that extra be fat.. what would happen if i did 6 meals but kept it under 1500, wouldnt that be better?

how many times a day you eating? how much protein per day?

no cardio? well start doing it.. 30 min a day, brisk walk, slight incline.

typically BMR calculations are off by up to 1000 cals a day. So you could be losing 2 pounds a week..thinking you are well above bmr.

See if you can do metabolic testing at a clinic.

              i eat 3 meals a day.
              breakfast at 9 - 9;30
              lunch around noon
              and dinner around 7
sometimes throwin a small meal somewhere from noon to 7 , whatevers available.

i should throw in a small snack or something at about 3 right? when people say 6 meals.. wtf? , how do you eat 6 times in say 16 hours , subtracting 8for sleep.. eat every 2 1/2 hours?

as far as cardio i've been jogging / walking about 30-45 mins 3 - 4 times weekly. since i originally posted i somehow dropped another 6 pounds but still blubbery lol :noo: i started at 225 in march and at 193 now.. what is all this weight loss.. water and muscle? are those fat caliber tools you can buy online acurate?

              sorry for rambling.

To lose weight, you need to run a caloric deficit.

To make sure you don't lose muscle, you need to keep your protein intake high, say 1.5g/lb of bodyweight.

What you should do is to this:

                  FIRST:

Calculate your maintenance calorie level and then run a 500 Kcal deficit from there.

                  SECOND:

Calculate the protein intake at 1.5g/lb.

                  THIRD:

Add GOOD fats at about 20% of the calorie intake. Get about 6-10 g of fish oil or flax oil.

                  FOURTH:
Eat a decent multivitamin and drink lots of water.

                  That's it!

If you run a 500Kcal deficit and are HONEST about your intake (use a site like fitday.com to track what you eat), the weight will come off without losing too much muscle.

And don't sweat the small details at this stage. Trust me, you don't need to worry about fine tuning anything until you get close to 10% BF.

fuck dude, you need a lot of help. lmao.

3 meals a day, no wonder you holding fat and losing muscle.

more meals = faster metabolism and more nutrients for muscle.

You need to research further into dieting and basic nutritional needs for a training athlete. Your way off at the moment. It sounds like your burning both fat and muscle at the moment. In undesired ratios at the moment. Tightening up your body is a science. One that takes research, desire and fortitude. Sarcastically saying wtf? to 6 meals a day doesn't sound like you have done or have much of any of these three.

first off a gallon of water weighs 8 lbs., so in reality you could have easily lost 16 lbs of water weight, cause fast food is loaded with sodium and other chemicals that will make you hold water, which takes you donw too what 205 lbs and then 12 lbs of fat

cardio and dieting is a delicate balance especially with muscle mass and remembering musclees are like 70% water, ie, the pump is water and blood

and to answer question yes you have too eat approximately every 3 hours, lol, no way around that one, that is why they say SMALL MEALS, cause if you eat big ones, you will get full and not feel like eating in 3 hours, you gotta find out, thru trial and error what is small for you, 300 cals, or 600 cals, etc.

imho, start with a protein shake before bed, and try am cardio, yeah, getting up early to do it

based on genetics everyone holds fat in different area's, for women hips, men da belly

you got one choice, keep going forward, and it will happen
