  • Staying keto... how long ?

Aside from the last few weeks (where i haven't been able to eat shit but protein shakes and marinated chicken force fed) I've stayed keto for about 3+ months since starting training again... I have a weight goal and I just got back from docs and I'm losing about 10-12 lbs a month when I can eat my normal diet. I carb up every 5th day and I still keep away from the bad fats because this is for health first. I just wanted to know, aside from the recovery aspects (feeling more tired, obviously not being able to lift for strenght for shit) that are apparent should I just continue to do this until I reach my goal? I am thinking within 3-4 months my weight will be where i want it if i can continue to manipulate the carbs right.

*I'm not running anything atm, no eca, clen for energy so this is strictly diet*

I would put money on it that this keto diet is making things that much worse for you. All the sides etc.. are amplified when your brain doesn't have carbs. not saying you shouldnt do this in the future but i dont think its a good idea now.

hell, i have seen countless guys that were just normal guys, no drug issues etc.. go on ketp type diets and literally turn into nut cases, myself included. not good for your mind bro. trust me on that.

Yeah... thats exactly what worries me, I can tell atm that I'm way to depleted just cuz i have a killer headache that is not due to the withdrawals I can tell the difference. It's so incredibly hard to take down any food right now so I'm really trying to monitor my potassium and magnesium levels those are what im most worried about, I'm just to try to eat some oats n dextrose all day and see how I feel tomorrow, the carb reup is insane to my body, I feel totally different after REALLY being keto and then finally feel like you aren't being starved (which to my knowledge is exactly what keto diets tend to mimic).

yea, just try and eat what you can. feed your body what it needs. forget about restricting carbs. you dont need that right now.

Agree with bouncer and you and me have spoken, try keep things simple for yourself, you know the basics of nutrition and foods for building muscle, I say get what you need in but not too much and just enjoy your training for a good six months, don't get bogged down with too much diet technicalities.

thx, I'll be eating in about 30 minutes and it will be oats / eggwhite + 2 whole egg omlette and vitamin water revive w/a banana. I'm thinking if I can muster up enough energy to eat that then atleast I will have a solid base and a quick spike ... I seriously feel like im about to pass out after having blood drawn this morning, can barely make it up and down stairs atm so even with the w/ds I know that you guys are on the money.

You have far too much going on to be worrying about starving yourself. Your other "issues" are SO much more important. When people get overwhelmed is when they start falling apart. Please don't do that!

add to the fact that the actual "starving diet" is making all the sides worse.

Yeah, not a good idea right now. You have plenty of time to do that later, if necessary. Right now you need to focus on what is causing what - and work with those other issues first.

Yet again I'm amazed at how the body works, I chugged down some OJ to get some fuel just to drive to get the food I needed (the oats and vitamin water were out) I am finished two bananas and half of the vitamin water, working on the oatmeal .. eggs literally make me puke on smell (just found that out) atm so I'll find some other source of protein for time being. Already I feel much more alert and not nearly as fatigued and that lingering headache is gone already... thank you very much for the responses, it's good to have level heads in all areas giving you advice.

As long as you continue to eat the proper carbs at the proper times, you should continue with your weight loss.

                        Glad you're feeling better :)

Yeah, w/alot of anti-psychotics your body just blows up so fast you barely know whats going on .... I could lose weight eating a clean bulk prolly right now just cuz my body isn't exactly mr olympia I'm comfy around 225-250 and everything I eat is going to be burned up pretty fast as my regular metabolism starts to kick into gear here. Thanks gain.:weights:

wow - that's really interesting because since I went cold turkey on domes i have slipped into keto just by chance and I am(was) incredibly aggressive, I am not sure how much was just emotions coming back but I feel much calmer now than I did this morning thats for damn sure.
