  • Thinking about going into a carb cycle again

I did it back in April-May and it pulled off a lot of weight. I have been pretty strict with the diet since then, but the fat seems to be sticking. So, I thought about doing another carb cycle with a fat burner. 1 Day of carbs 6 days carb free

Here is the low carb day:
    Meal 1: 2 whole eggs, 6 egg whites, apple/banana
Meal 2: 8oz of chicken, 1 cup of green veggie (Maybe meal replacement shake -- 2 scoops whey, 8 oz skim milk)
Meal 3: 8oz of chicken, 1 cup of green veggie half of an avocado
    Meal 4: Pre-workout Protein (1 scoop whey)
PWO: 2 scoops whey + 8 oz of grape juice
Meal 5: 6 oz lean beef, 1 cup of green veggie half of an avocado
Meal 6: 2 whole eggs, 6 egg whites

The carb up day would remain remarkably the same as my current meal plan. Also, thinking of having carbs with my PWM on leg day.

usually i would yell at you for adding nonsense to the thread. BUT, chris, you have to do something about the titles of your posts. literally everyone is fucked up.

No, this is the first one that is fucked up. All the others were long winded and annoying. I'll work on it. Can you change it from bycle to cycle at this point.

Get Firefox and the spell checker add-on, it underlines everything in red you spell wrong.

My life has really been one big "diet" since October of 08. I've learned to cope with it and have a 'break' meal every once in a while without punishing myself.

plus it dosent underline wrong words in the title for some reason.

This was simply an instance of my not checking my spelling. I'm tired and grumpy right now. Like I said, long winded and annoying titles will start dying off.

Oh yea, and Meal 4 is Pre-Workout, not PreMeal... Ugh.

Not right now, but if there is ever a really glaring spelling error, its because the iPhone decided that a word, wasn't a word.

Good luck with your cycling.I would venture to guess a good diet is where most fail. I also agree with Rado to have a cheat meal once a week. Helps keep u sane bro ;)

Chris, I would recommend reading Lyle McDonald's books. His Ultimate Diet 2.0 in particular has been very effective in my experience to lower my BF from about 15% to about 7% the last time I tried it. Even if you don't follow the diet, the book is full of information on the metabolic underpinnings of carb cycling which is very useful information to know. You can get more information at bodyrecompostion.com.

I've used carb cycling and loved it, though I use a high/med/low/refeed protocol over the week adjusting the number of high/med/low days as it suits my goals. For me, I feel that beginning like this is a little less drastic than 6 low-1 high which realistically leaves you almost nowhere to go when progress slows down. The h/m/l protocol may not shed fat quite as quickly as yours, but for me it's more maintainable and allows for longer term adjustments.

                          Just my .02

Do me a favor and throw out your opinion of the diet according to what you read in the book by McDonald. I don't know if I'll have the time to read it before I start the cycle.

Carb cycling is expensive and not fun. All this meat is costing me tons of money. I changed the diet a tad.

                              Meal 1: 2 whole eggs, 6 egg whites, apple/banana
Meal 2: 7oz of chicken, 1 cup of green veggie (Maybe meal replacement shake -- 2 scoops whey, 8 oz skim milk)
Meal 3: 6oz of chicken, 1 cup of green veggie half of an avocado
                              Meal 4: Pre-workout Protein (1 scoop whey)

Meal 5: 6 oz lean beef, 1 cup of green veggie half of an avocado
Meal 6: 2 whole eggs, 6 egg whites
