Yo, I just saw on the packaging of my white beans that they are supposes to be heated (without cooking them) before consumption. Is this necesarry? I usually just mix them with my cooked rice and then microwave it before I eat it.

I don't know about white beans but some kinds of beans are toxic without cooling. I think red kidney beans are like that. Clearly white beans are ok because you are none the worse for it, but I would exercise caution if you experiment with other kinds. Why don't you toss them in with the rice and cook them together?
