I've been sick the last couple of days so the one morning I was really craving something citrus for the vit c. I ended up buying a bottle of Naked.

I got the 'mighty mango' each 15.2 fl oz bottle contains 30g of protein, 1.25mangoes, 1/3 banana, 1 orange, and 1.75 apples. And of course all the vitamins from the fruit. There is 60g of sugar, but it is all from the fruit no refined sugar or artificial ingredients. 300 cal total so definitely not for those that count calories.

What do you think about a drink like this in the morning for early in the day for a protein source. It tastes so damn good.

    Welcome to Naked Juice

    Here is the nutritional info

From what I can read that seems like a very healthy source of protein.

I've heard of it, but never cared to try it honestly. I am not a fan of those 60g of sugars however.

That's what I am curious about. I know 60g of refined sugar is just asking for diabetes, but what about 60g of simple carbs from a natural product? I know based on the way you feel vs the two there is a night and day difference. Refined sugars make you wired, crash, and and feel like shit.

          to much sugar i think.

maybe for a post workout type drink. but 60 grams of sugar will have you crashing a few hours after your drink it.

glucose will always be glucose. It doesn't matter if its coming from fruits or candy. Its just the glucose from natural products have less PPM of junk and its more pure than refined sugars.

What the difference between that and and a shake with malto dextrose/dextrin in it?

the sugar in that drink would actually be fructose then converted to glucose in the body.

                  maltodextrin is a complex carb.

dextrose isnt but nobody said you should be taking in dextrose in the morning. that is a PWO item.

haha, yea the whole point of dextrose is to raise insulin levels and force nutrients into the muscle after a workout.

the morning you should have a bit of simple carbs like a piece of fruit if you want.

I usually have whole grain spaghetti and hamburg for breakfast with a little bit of sauce.

If it has no added sugar, I would say it is not a bad morning "meal." If all the sugar is from fruit, and you limit yourself to one a day, I see it as healthy. But I am too lazy to read the website to check
