    protect muscle = high protein.

chicken, eggs, red meat, fish, protein powder etc..

I am not on a cutting diet like you, but your right, I'm trying to do the same thing but at a more gradual pace. I've gone from 232lbs in March to around 222lbs now. And my body composition has been improving, but everyone's physique is different and my problem is I have a tendency to hold abdominal fat. My arms and legs and back look a lot better. I've gotten a lot smaller but thicker which I think means I gained muscle while losing fat. It's only a ten pound difference. But my stomach never really gets that cut look. I can see the shape of the abs, but the fat just won't burn away. I'm convinced it has something to do with my diet. I think abdominable fat is a sign of unhealthy eating or am I mistaken? Especially if that's the only area I really carry lots of fat. I can see and feel the separation between my hamstings and quads. It's just really weird....

some of it has to do with genetics. Keep going with your diet and exercise, and give it time. Are you taking AAS?

im not really on a cutting diet. that is how i eat to grow and stay lean.

holding fat in a certain area is a genetic thing. sure you can do things like diet and cardio to over come that genetic trait..

other people can eat shitty and have abs but hold all their fat in the waist, hips, legs etc..

where you hold your fat is not a sign really of anything other then where you hold your fat.

No, I'm not actually. I'm not a virgin either. But I've been training natty for about 8 years now. I took some time off for a few years and then really came back to training in '07. And I do look pretty decent. (at least in my opinion). There are a lot of guys at my gym who I know are on and I think my legs and back, although skinnier than theirs, show okay. You know I can walk around like I know what I'm doing....but my stomach! And no it's not GH gut...it's just plain old fat.
