    I was reading through an old issue of musclemag last night and it was saying take in simple carbs before and after you lift. I always thought it best to take in complex carbs before lifting and simple carbs after? Thats how I've always did it but shit you read so much stuff, I figure the complex carbs before lifting give you a steady release of energy while the simple carbs ( grape juice in my case ) spike insulin levels after lifting for better recovery.

    a mix before you lift would be perfect. like some oatmeal with a banana and hour or so before you lift.

      I eat complex carbs before i lift, always brown rice and sweet potato. I don't lift until 1.5 hours after my pre-workout meal. It works for me.
