  • White bread vs. whole wheat

One thing I noticed that is in the diet my trainer put me on is WHITE BREAD. Like...tuna on WHITE and not on WWHEAT bread. Why is this? Aren't we all coaxed into believeing that whole wheat is better than white (refined, bleached) flour?

I suspect that it is two reasons...but I want you guys to verify...
    1. Whole wheat causes water retention (to process it through your body)??

    2. Wheat putts me (women) into pre-menopausal state??

Please elaborate if you could offer any answers...

i eat 100% whole wheat. it is slower to digest dosnt turn to glucose as fast so less is stored as fat by virtue of it trickleing into the blood stream slower. and it has much needed fiber in it. i like the taste and texture better too.

I think I will stick to ww when I consume bread. I hardly ever eat bread anyhow, so its not a big deal.

Some people are very sensitive to gluten found in whole grains and in particular wheat. It can actually cause major water retention and slow the glycogenesis process in individuals with sensitivity... if you have an extremely fast metablosim, are ectomorphic, or have an o blood type you are more prone to gluten sensitivity.
