Coming from someone who drinks. YEs and yes. I drink more than a 12 pack most weekends. Idrink nothing alcoholic during the week. I make steady gains. I can tell I get leaner the less I drink. I lose more fat, I can lift more, I have more endurance when I hold it down but I love to drink beer so fu** it. Im @ around 10 % bf and dont compete so Im going to drink . Sorry to drag out but yes it will impact your gains.

Alcohol is empty calories. Your body cannot use any of it's nutrients. Also, alchohol is metabolized as fat (not the good fat, either..LOL) So, when you add the late night trip thru the drive thru, you're really packing it in!! If you're not cutting, you can still make gains. If you are cutting, obviously it will hinder fat loss!

Let's not forget that Alcohol is a diuretic, which means it's working against the absurd amount of water you should be drinking...

it will slow things down , but you can still make gains... I drink a few every night, and still make some progress.

Alcohol raises Cortisol, and estrogen. Not good. That being said, I would be a hippocrit If I didnt admit to downing 9-10 a few times a month.

And let's not forget, the alchohol depletes your muscles of the water they need!!

                      It's Friday...I need a cocktail.
