I obviously know what to eat, but I struggle with consistently eating enough and what ratios I should be at.

Yesterday was my first trial day and it ended up about 1438 calories

    Meal 1 - oats, eggs/egg whites

    Meal 2 - shake w/ oats

Meal 3 - chicken and rice

Meal 4 - chicken and rice

    One gallon of water

    Protein 132
    Carb 184
    Fat 30

    which ended up 34%/48%/18%

That looks like a lot of carbs. ?
And is it too much fat?

I don't think I can do those oats, either. Or maybe just not twice in a row. It took me forEVER to eat them, and they left me feeling disgusting for a long time.

THIS is delicious, though! It's like a cheat meal.

    1/3 cup rice flour
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    1/2 banana, mashed
    1/2 tsp vanilla
    1/4 cup of almond milk

Put a tsp of coconut oil in the pan and "fry" the pancake. Can also add a tablespoon of almond or peanut butter on top. So.Damn.Good.

1534 cals based on your protein, carbs, and fat.

      Protein 132 x 4 = 528 cals
      Carb 184 x 4 = 736 cals
      Fat 30 x 9 = 270 cals

      total 1534 cals.

i am almost positive that you are NOT getting that many cals in just 4 clean meals.

how much oats and eggs i meal 1?

how much rice and chicken in the other meals?

Interesting. I didn't even follow up and do the math. I just copied the numbers.

        Meal 1 - 2 eggs, 2 egg whites, 1 cup of oats, 1/2 banana

Meal 3 & 4 - were a little hard to calculate because the chicken had some black beans in it. I accounted for 5 ounces of chicken, 1/4 cup of black beans and 1 cup of white rice

          hmm.

I take back what i said about not getting enough cals in 4 meals. my math is actually telling me the opposite.

meal 1 you are getting 570 cals.

meal 3-4 you are getting 527 each.

That comes out to 1624 cals and that is not counting meal 2.

Those are the oats I was eating and the stats from the package. 1 cup of dry made 2 cups cooked. In meal two (the shake) I took 1/2 cup of dry, pulverized it, and added it to my shake.

Meal 3 & 4 only says 600 calories total. So I need to look into better numbers for these. I just plugged in and went with those two. The other ingredients I eat I KNOW are accurate. (oats, protein powder, etc)

ok thats where the confusion is. when i measure oats (when i was eating the quacker stuff) i would measure it dry 1 cup and that comes out to 300 cals.

Ok so meal 1 is 435 cals.

Meals 3 and 4 though I still have 527 cals each.

                    5oz chicken = 230 cals
                    1 cup rice = 242 cals
                    1/4 cup black beans = 55 cals

                    are your numbers different?

i am off on the chicken. every site says something different, just looked on the back of my chicken and its 100 cals per 4oz serving.

                      so 5oz chicken = 125-135 cals.

Yes, it has 10 ounces of chicken at 275 calories.

It also has my rice a lot less than yours, but I will look at my exact packaging when I get back home.

ok, just make sure about the other numbers because based on the original protein, carbs, fats in your first post, its stll off by 100 cals or so. its not really a big deal, just wondering how that site you use is calculating the numbers.

as long as you are around 1500 cals at the end of the day and you are doing cardio consistently i don't see how you wont be in a calorie deficit. you should be good to go. the key as you know is staying consistent, eating the same thing day in and day out and just not losing focus. you arent in bad shape by any means so it really should not be very hard to get there.
