Anyone here have any experience with this type of dieting... A few guys at my gym have been leaning out pretty well and are swearing by this method of consuming all of your daily nutrition during a 6-8 hour window of the day and fasting for the balance of the day... It seems to have some merit but I'm more curious about what down sides might exist with this route.

From everything Ive read so far it seems to be that as long as you get in your macro nutrition requirements during the feeding window your body processes it the same as if you were eating the food spaced out during the day over 6 meals. during the fasting time your body burns stored fat reserves...Still doing some reading on this...Hoping there are some folks on here that can provide some guidence or comments.

I don't think anyone really has anything to add because they don't eat like that, lol. If you're interested, best thing to do is give it a whirl. And then let us know how it worked for you (and how hungry you are )

The hunger really isn't all that bad...Surprisingly I seem to get more tired after I eat during my feeding window. I've had good energy for my 5am work outs but strength is certainly down..I'm sure that is due to me not eating from 6pm to 5am...Very noticeable bf loss in the 10 days I've been at it...Going to keep it going for another 2 weeks to see what I think..Have always been a 5-6 meal a day guy like most so this goes against everything Ive been tought so far. I'm pretty sure I could be doing much better, Need some help dialing in my macro requirments.

GIMMICKS ARE NOT THE ANSWER.
You think I got my abs dicking around with "intermittent fasting"? Come on bro. Worry about the shit that matters.
If you want help with a diet, just ask.

To make things really simple, are you willing to try my diet? You have to be really strict with your fat intake because of the amount of carbs I eat you will just get fat if your fat intake isn't extremely low. If you cant do that, then don't try my diet.

In the past I have had good luck with keeping carbs on the low side..Honestly have never tried going high on carbs before.
Presently 6' 195lbs@ 8ish% bf...Not really trying to get much bigger at the moment however, would like to shed some extra bf..Ideally, 195lbs at 5-6% would be great!

How sure are you about those numbers? I am right around 7% in this pic and the avatar. http://i45.tinypic.com/2psf47r.jpgOriginally posted by kingj View Post

Might want to look at this bro. I doubt you would be talking about "trying to lean out" if you were truly "8ish%".

Had my bf checked by a trainer at the gym last week using calipers..She said I was just over 8% but I did see this picture before and it makes me feel that I'm more like 9% My abs are more defined than the 10% picture above...Lean out might not be the term I should use..I want to shred for the rest of the summer! It would be nice to add some lean mass while I'm lower in weight than usual but I can't have the best of both worlds I guess.
