  • is the post workout thing bullshit

Lets say I eat chicken and rice at 4-430. I hit tbe gym at 5.

The way I see it the chicken isn't yet all the way digested. when you finish traoning the blood will return to the stomach organz and ypu start digesting again.

Ive been wondering the same thing too bro. With my current "life schedule", ive been eating some form of chicken/rice, beef/potato dinner around 6-7pm then lifting at 8 pm. Out of habit i immediately have a minimum of 25g/protein worth of a shake afterwards...but like you said, its not like solid food is gone at that point. I do know that ive been "off" a couple weeks and havnt lost more than 2 lbs. Idk if its contributed to post workout nourishment or the fact im cruising on 250/wk of test. Id drop the shakes but im afraid to lose 5 lbs.lol

Yup, that's just common sense right there. I agree.

That said, i cant really eat any sort of whole food type meal pre workout or I feel sluggish and bloated. I'd rather train on an empty stomach and eat a whole food meal pwo.

Glucagon, insulin, protein and carb reuptake rates. Performance vs aesthetics.

This branch of science is fast becoming known as "body hacking". It matters more for performance. If what you are doing is working, then you are gravy.

Some of the guys I work with do prefer whole meals PWO and get great results. It depends on the person,,goals,,how much time you have to prepare meals etc... Experiment yourself and see what works.
