It is very tough but I am making my way through the textbook and doing all the exercises....I am going to take my test in May and I feel I will need all that time to learn what I need to learn!!

I meant that a natural athlete has more chance to lose muscle through catabolism than an athlete on gear. The gear helps to stay anabolic longer and not convert to muscle for energy. At least that was/is my understanding.

That's true, but I tend to keep with tradition.. ;)

I didn't take it as a jab by no means, just didn't get what you meant.. Now I do, and knowing is half the bagel.. :agree:

I usually have something light, not too heavy in carbs and usually an hour before a workout.

I cup Oatmeal with raisins, brown sugar
                4 egg whites
                2 cups yogurt fatfree

i eat some heavy carbs and slow burning protein about 2-21/2 hours before a workout
before i prepare to head to the gym i make a shake containing 40-50g protein (whey) and about 40g simple carbs (Gatorade mixer) + some natty PB and glutamine.
I mix it in a blender and drink about 1/3-1/2 of it.
30 minutes later i hit the weights.
throughout my workout i sip on the drink
immediately when i get done working out i have some creatine 5-7g and about 50 g of simple carbs along with 40-50g whey protein.

about an hour to 1 1/2 hrs later i eat actual food.
