I meant that a natural athlete has more chance to lose muscle through catabolism than an athlete on gear. The gear helps to stay anabolic longer and not convert to muscle for energy. At least that was/is my understanding.Originally posted by bigpetefox
True, but I was saying in general.. I think it was the comment on being a natural athlete that got me..

That's true, but I tend to keep with tradition.. ;)Originally posted by playthegame

i eat some heavy carbs and slow burning protein about 2-21/2 hours before a workout
before i prepare to head to the gym i make a shake containing 40-50g protein (whey) and about 40g simple carbs (Gatorade mixer) + some natty PB and glutamine.
I mix it in a blender and drink about 1/3-1/2 of it.
30 minutes later i hit the weights.
throughout my workout i sip on the drink
immediately when i get done working out i have some creatine 5-7g and about 50 g of simple carbs along with 40-50g whey protein.
about an hour to 1 1/2 hrs later i eat actual food.
