    I'm 5'6 145. I've been upping cardio and lost about 5lbs.

    Daily nutrition is about:
    2000cal, 200g protein, 300g carbs, 25g fat

Trying to gain weight and lose some fat around my stomach and sides. Been lifting, and cardio like a biotch. What kinds of things can I do with my diet especially concerning carbs. I've been eating oats, chicken and rice/pasta. I usually have two meals a day that
include high carbs (about 4-5 total meals). Should I save higher carbs for after workouts only? Or is it reasonable to have it before and after?

I appreciate any suggestions. Diet and/or training.

Each person is a little different. For me high protein, moderate carbs, low fat works best. Post up what you eat in a day. That makes it easier to give advice.

      1. 1/2 cup oats (usually with craisens), Banana, Protein shake.

      2. 4-6oz chicken breast, (not exact on rice I make a lot at a time) half a bowl of rice and broccoli.

      3. Same as above only 6-8oz chicken and Protein

      4. Peanut butter or turkey sandwich, Banana.

      5. Sometimes same as above. If I snack, I eat some pretzels.

OJ once or twice a day. Water all day...

That's pretty accurate up above. Sometimes I'll do spaghetti with 99% lean ground turkey and a few different types of beans.

I doubt you're getting enough calories. I don't count mine but I know what I have to adjust to either cut, bulk, or maintain. Here's mine.

          1. 1/2 cup of oats - protein shake (40g)
          2. 8oz chicken - 4oz rice
          3. can tuna - 2 rice cakes with natty pb
          4. 8oz chicken - 4oz rice
          5. post workout shake (40g protein & grape juice)
          6. 8oz lean beef - 4oz potatoes
          7. cup of cottage cheese

I'm trying to clean up my diet for now and see if I can get anymore out of that.

devildog, what do you mean upping your cardio, like 15 mins extra on the stair climber, or a sandbag in your pack for 5 extra miles??

Instead of 3.5 miles four times a week and 1.5 twice a week. I ran 5.5 miles four times a week and 1.5 twice a week. But now I sprained my foot most likely from that change.

start swimming since your foots jacked up, stay focused on your goal regardless of your foot.
