    Elk Swiss Steak

    Total Time---1 hr 50 min

    Servings:
    4

    Ingredients

    2 lbs elk steaks
    1/4 cup flour
    3 teaspoons butter
    1 onion, sliced
    2 cups fresh mushrooms
    1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
    2 beef bouillon cubes, dissolved in 3 t water
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon garlic powder
    1/2 teaspoon pepper

    Directions:


    Cut elk steak in serving pieces.

    Sprinkle lightly with flour.

    Fry in hot butter, browning both sides.

    Put in a baking pan.

    Brown onions and mushrooms in same pan as the steak.

    Add to steak in baking pan.

    Combine remaining ingredients and pour over the steak.

    Cover and bake at 350F degrees for 1 1/2 hours.

    Serve over brown rice or quinoa.

    In case you were wondering.....No this is not a misprint.......IT REALLY HAS ALMOST 73G OF PROTEIN!!!!

    And dont give me any of that "BUT YOU CAN ONLY PROCESS 35G OF PROTEIN PER MEAL" BULLSHIT!!

        Here's a couple of sites ive used in the past that have great quality exotic meats and pretty decent prices.The second one has the best prices I believe and run many specials all the time.

        If you're into trying all different kinds of meat or have a favorite that you want to eat again,give these guys a try.Great quality and service was awesome.

          Where are the mushrooms and onions in the pic?

            I like better than bullion so much more than the cubes. Also I would deglaze the pan with a little beef stock before cooking the onions and mushrooms in it, after those are cooked, deglaze again while adding the other ingredients and pour that over the steak before cooking it.
