  • Caloric surplus or protein deficit

Every once in a while I have been binging on peanut butter and honey for breakfast along with my normal 5 eggs. I have my meals planned out days in advanced and prepared in advance but this peanut butter and honey intrusion throws me off.

Without stating, just stop doing it, do you all think it would be better for me to bite the bullet and increase my desired calorie count for the day, up to maintenance, so I can fit in my needed protein or stay at my desired caloric deficit and not eat as much later in the day resulting in a protein deficit for the day?

I am trying to eat 1 gram of protein per pound of lean body weight.

If your goal is to drop fat and you don't want the answer of stop doing it then your only option is to go protein deficient.

I don't understand the mindset you have when it comes to this but we are all different I guess. When I have a goal I do everything it takes to achieve that goal. I have no problem looking a craving in the eye and saying fuck you craving!

You MUST focus on 1 goal. Getting rid of bodyfat or maintaining muscle. I cannot stress enough how many people I have seen never reach their goal because they are so god damn stuck on both goals that they never see the forest for the trees. Focus bro, please. Once you achieve 1 goal it will be so much easier to achieve the other.

Okay, I will take a hit on the protein.

I have compulsions sometimes when I limit my food intake, I crave and don't stop craving the food for days. But, at least it's peanut butter and honey and not oreos.

It seems like you have compulsions too, yours are just focused on your training while mine is on food.

I am a lot better with my diet since I joined this site, will I reach single digit bf% as I am now? No. But I am certain that I can get down to the low/mid teens then at that point I will have to figure out how to eat completely clean if I still want to make progress.

It's still pure sugar and pure fat bro. The worst possible combination on a diet. You are essentially telling your body "please store these calories as fat".

How about just eating natural PB without the sugar and honey added? Or natty PB with a packet of splenda mixed in.

The natural PB with Splenda is a good idea. If I start craving peanut butter and honey I'll try subbing PB and splenda.

The chocolate flavored PB2 is pretty good too.

Respect your honesty avid. Most people aren't able to point out their weakness or flaws. Good trait to have brother.

Regular Peanutbutter has alot of fat compared to protein i try to stay away as much as possible. I'd say if u MUST have the honey, try fitting it in right after your workout. However if that's how you cheat your diet, there are much worse things you could be doing. Indulging once or twice a week on that shouldn't kill you. Hold out as much as you can. Then eat enough to curb ur craving. Or perhaps a peanut butter flavored protein shake lol
