Turned out amazing. I mean really amazing.

    5lb Pork Shoulder
    1 Can Diet Ginger Ale
    1 bottle BBQ sauce
    1 chopped onion
9 hours on low in crock pot. (Don't touch it, stir it, or open top, just let it do its magic.)
    Serve over rice.

Didnt eat the spiders but the rest was pretty bland. No real taste just a crispy texture.

Insects are supposed to be the best and cheapest animal protein source. Far cheaper and less impactive on the environment than livestock and poultry.

Unless i was in some serious situation, where my only options for food was insects, i could never eat those things. The thought of whats crunching between my teeth would make me sick to my stomach.lol.

I think another reason foe marketing them is that people are scared these days of wheat and grains with all the GMO stuff going on.

Apparently in Thailand now they have to important all the insects from Veitnam and Cambodia because the Thais basically ate so much they are now scarce there.

I saw this episode of Departures on Cambodia where they caught tarantulas and grilled them on an open fire. Apparently, they are delicious.

Like you said, all mental. You have no problem chewing on a buffalo wing. The bone of a bird that walked around in it's own shit for most of it's life. If you grew up on bugs and never ate chicken you'd see the chicken as disgusting as it actually is. lol. Of the 2, the chicken carries far more bacteria, disease, and filth than a bug ever could.

That's a very good point. Honestly never thought about it that way.

We've been conditioned to eat what we eat, so of course it makes sense for us to think this way.

But fuck all that, I want my god dam chicken.
