  • Fat sources

What do you guys use for fat sources for all of your meals? I'm having a hard time getting enough healthy fats in for each meal. Preferably low sugar, and less saturated.

I personally use pecans, almonds, olive oil, fish oil, coconut oil, alvacados, olives, Chia seeds (in smoothies), and flax seeds (in smoothies). Incorporating good fats is easy, imo. It's finding a variety of good carbs, that I like, is the bitch.

Thanks bro. I'll have to pick up some of that stuff at the grocery. For carbs is usually do sweet potatoes, basmatti rice, and pastas.

Avocado by far. Makes everything taste better. Goes with everything. I don't like oils and nuts and all that shit. Very easy to overeat those kind of things. Half an avocado with every meal, boom job done.

Eggs and fish oil are really my only source of fat when I'm eating clean though. My body responds best to carbs and protein.

Just an FYI - Coconut Oil isn't considered a "healthy" fat like the others, but it does have healthy properties. I mainly use it in my smoothies when I add tumeric powder to it. Tumeric needs something to help it absorb like a fat source or black pepper.

I also buy Carlson's Very Finest Fish Oil. It comes in pill form or liquid; I buy the liquid. You can put it on your food like salads. I just get a couple teaspoons after each meal. Doesn't taste bad at all and you don't get fish burps from it.

Good recommendations fellas. I'll pick up a few of those this week at the grocery for sure. Just trying to get everything laid out for my diet now so I can really clean my shit up this week.

Dare I say your obsession with pb is a problem for you? Almost impossible to measure that shit out. Think your eating a tsp end up eating 7 tbsp. :D

What's so hard with measuring PB? You NEVER use a table spoon to meaure out 1 Tbsp. Get a set of measuring spoons. Scoop out 1 Tbsp and use a knife to level it off. I eat 2 Tbsp every day. If you just stick a dinner spoon into the PB jar and scoop it out, then I agree you'll probably end up wtih 7 or 8 tbsps before you realize it.

What's hard is that it's the type of food that doesn't satisfy at 1 or 2 or 5 servings. It's a bad bodybuilding food IMO. Once you pop you can't stop and you not full till half the fucken jar is gone.

It's part of why I'm so strict. I've found the perfect meal that satisfies and fills me while giving me the look that I want.

I'm actually a pig with food. If I'm not super strict I'm just the opposite and I'll eat till I'm sick.
