  • Oatmeal

I always see people include this in daily meal plans. What is the benefit of including oatmeal in your diet?

It is a good, relatively low GI carb for restoring muscle glycogen.

the best carb meal around is 1/4 cup of wheat farina and 1/4 cup of oatmeal. a little bit of smart squeeze butter replacement and 8-10 packets of splenda...MMMmmm...tastes like oatmeal cookie dough!!

Oatmeal is healthy for your heart. Good source of fiber, and even has an okay amount of protein in it. One of the best things you can eat.

                question:

if i had a protein shake primarily made of whey protein but included about 1/3-1/2 cup of oats, would that slow the burning of the protein because of the fiber?

any time but mostly for before, and for adding good clean calories to your diet

for immediate replenshement you want a combo of high GI and longer burnign carbs

A good quick afterworkout carb is to eat a bananna.
