A quick question: I am always looking to increase my protein intake, and was wondering if there is anything wrong with drinking fairly high quantities of skim milk as an added source? Any help would be very much appreciated. j

well dont drink it every time of the day. id say it for night time before u go to sleep. the casein in milk burns over a 2-7 hour period so its great while u r fasting in ur sleep. but if u take the skim milk and whey protein at the same time the casein from the skim milk absorbs the whey and they whey becomes a waste. so just have a few glasses of skim milk before bed.
new quote-
"stay whey, till the end of the day" lol

on the back of my ON 100% Whey it says to mix with water or milk. i think that guy was full of shit.Originally posted by Irishgirl
I'd be interested to know as well. I never heard that, and if that's the case, why would so many people mix whey with skim milk in their shakes?

I think that the casein only slows down the absorbcion of whey, so it shouldn´t be used postworkout .
But what about the intolerant of lactose? does it mean that if the body is uneable to brake down the lactose, all the nutrients from the milch will be waisted?

im fairly certain that the protein wouldnt recommend milk if it cancelled its affect, and postworkout i make sure to drink just water.
i guess youre refering to people who are lactose intolerant? those who are lactose intolerant dont drink milk. they also make protein with no lactose.
