  • Getting rid of the extra lbs.

I was talking to a guy at GNC. I told him i was trying to lose between 35-40 pounds, which company makes the best fat loss products? He told me that over Muscletech does, specifically, "Hydroxycut", was the best product. I have heard EAS has a superior supplement. And is protein supplement essential to my fat loss program? I am new to fitness game, please school me.

its been a while since i took any of the fat burners... but since they removed the ephedra from them , i think there pretty much garbage.

Reduce your carbs (namely sugar and simple carbs[pasta, white bread, juice, soda]) increase your protine intake.... and try and reduce your overall calories.... hit the cardio 4-5 times a week for a min of 40 min.

Before we talk about fat burners. What is your diet like? What is your training like? Without those 2 things in checkl the fat burner wont do much.

Fat burners are the most over hyped supps on the market IMO.People usually expect some kind of amazing results overnight and it really just doesnt happen. Like Bouncer said first you need get your diet /training/cardio split in check. That being said I would go with making my own ECA or ECY stack. Muscletech and EAS are way over priced IMO. LAst, Most people at GNC a full of crap.

Thanks for the replies guys. Let me see..........My diet is pretty much shot to hell. Mainly cuz i don't let to eat breakfast. Carbs are the center of my diet. I love bread, althought (whole grain wheat, brown rice, and brown sugar), and juices. I love veggies; beans, avacados, broccoli, spinach, and salads sometimes w/ ranch dressing. I eat a lot of chicken-not fried, beef, and a little bit of pork-tad bit. I play basketball about two times a week and work. I hope its enough info for you to help my pitiful a@#?

Get your diet in check first brother..... like Bouncer said, it before anything, will determine how successful you are in losing weight. Its tough sometimes to find one you can follow. As a suggestion, dont immediately cut out everything in your diet, failure is almost inevitable. For example, if you drink a liter of mountain dew a day, dont try to completely cut out the mountain dew (or whatever), instead gradually decrease the intake of it. Same with bread, and other simple carbs.

Also, counting and keeping track of calories is a good idea, you may want to look into this thread, http://www.superiormuscle.com/vbulle...=&threadid=411
to check your maintainance claories, this can be a huge help.

Finally, as for a fat burner, Speedracer said it best, generally fat burners are highly overrated and are not a miracle capsule. The best fat burner is probably the one you make yourself. A simple ephedrine hcl, green tea extract, caffeine and some type of essential fatty acid is about all you need. No hype and its fairly cheap.

If you have anymore questions, and I suspect you will, feel free to get help with your diet in the nutrition section, or supplements in this section. You can also post any question you may have in YellowJacket's Corner, which is my personal forum, and I tend to answer questions there on a more personal, indepth level.

i can tell u one thing. Any salad that has any type of bottled dressing on it... your better off eating something else. Salads are great spinache raw broc chopped up maybe a little tomato... but vinegar and no oil with maybe some garlic powder diced onion and black pepper. some chili powder if you like spicy. Never any ranch or anything. Its too fattening like 14 grams of fat for 1 tbl spoon and if your like me before i went on my diet 1 table spoon would simply not do. Never does =). With the meat as long as its not bigger then 8 oz or not bigger then the size of your palm your ok. Make sure you dont eat the fat and it's skinless. Also how long do you play basketball for??? Atleast 30 mins ??? Try to take an addition walk or 2 during the week maybe a jog then id say you'd drop pounds with out the worry of a fat burner. People who use that shit dont keep it off for long. You need to get used to eating right learning how your body utilizes its food's. My best bet is eat tons of greens and portion sized meals and get 3 days of cardio 30 min sessions. Youll be fine. I lost over 100 so i know how it feels. If you ever need any tips my screen name is juka865.

Salad dressings as a rule are not a good choice, but if you use them in moderation it isn't a problem. My diet right now is down to 25g of fat per day. I have a salad everyday, romaine lettuce, tomato, carrot, and just one TEASPOON of good Ranch dressing. Your body needs some good fats or else your diet isn't going to work. But like everyone else said, losing weight isn't rocket science. Unless you have a medical condition like a thyroid disorder, losing weight is a simple thing that just requires discipline and resolve. You didn't gain weight overnight and you won't lose it overnight either. I'd say skip the pills for now and spend the money on stocking up the kitchen with good clean foods. If you get 6 small clean meals a day and get your cardio sorted out with your lifting routine, the fat will fall right the hell off.

Thanks guys. I've been eating better. And have added some protein supplements to my diet to replace the junk foods. I have started the dumbell routine and will be increasing my cardio-stationary bike, more basketball, and some days on the tennis court. Any specific supplements to aid the process?
