  • Change in my post workout shake.

My old shake consisted of, Grape Juice, 3 scoops Isopure, and 10g Creatine.

I recently changed it to, Dextrose at 55G, 3 scoops Isopure, and 10g Creatine.

My muscles feel much tighter now for some reason.

For those that dont know, dextrose is the best type of sugar post workout, its what your body wants. All other sugars have to be turned into dextrose before your body will use them.

Anyway, just thought I would give you guys an update. :)

I thought the sugar in grape juice was dextrose. I guess not all of the sugars are dex then huh?

The Sugar in grape juice is fructose. fructose goes threw the liver to be turned into dextrose so it waste valuable time when your muscles need it. dextrose is in the blood and your muscles in 3 minutes.

Fructose is also notorious for easily being converted to fat, only the liver benefits from fructose storage..

Bouncer, get some BCAA's to toss in there, you'll swear you're on something strong.. ;)

        Go for 5g at least..

If I put dextrose in my Alltheywhey strawberry protien shake, will it be to sweet to drink or taste like shit? I'm assuming since its a sugar it will be sweet? Would it be better to put it in flavorless protien drinks? I've never had Isopure, so I don't know if its flavored or not.

It'll make any shake sweeter than it is, not a bad way either.. Dextrose can be put in anything protein-wise.. ;)
