Primatene and Vaso-Pro are actual bronchiodilators, so the guaifenesin is part of the product for that purpose(it's actually an expectorant).. ;)

I always seem to have problems with my sinuses being clogged, so the dryness from vasopro does me some good..

Someone mentioned on another board that if you take the aspirin with your stack it counteracts the guaifenesin.. Not sure if it's true, but it might be worth a try :)

Its an expectorant and it loosens congestion in the lungs. Its supposed to have the reverse effect of drying you out. Its used in non drying sinus meds. It makes me cough alot.. I hate it. I use generic psuedoephedrine or psuedofed. The generic is alot cheaper and its a hell of alot cheaper than primatene. It is a synthetic version of ephedrine but is very similiar. It has diffrent profile of sides and is to be taken to your tolerance. Its a bit less potent feeling to me but does the job with the right amount. It doesnt have that damn guaifenesin in it though wich makes it better in my book, And it beats ephedra wich is a herbal extract. I still would rather have pure ephedrine though.

As far as the drying out I beleive this is because of dialation of vessels in the nose due to the ephedrine. Your sinus will be open alot more and let in more air and along with more air is dust and pollutants or allergens. Oh and more breathing thru the nostrils because they are clear could cause a little dryness feeling too I would think...

          Just my 2 cents
