  • I Would Like Your Opinions

I'll be 46 in April. I weigh about 184. My diets pretty good. On an average I take in about 225g protein, 218g carbs and 32g fat daily. I use Whey and about 10g creatine a day. Nothing else. I've been lifting regularly for about a year and a half. I've gained about 10 lbs all together (about 5 lbs is spare tire) and gotten some what stronger, but I think that I should be further along than where I currently am. I was considering using 1 of the following for a boost. What is your opinion? Or would you recommend something else for an ole guy trying to improve?

    ZMA
    Tribulus
    DHEA

    or
    Animal Stak 2
    DHEA

The first thing we should look at is your diet. To see where your getting your nutrition from and how your spacing it out. Sounds to me like you have a good idea what to eat, just not how to eat it. I had the same problem before.

Why not try both. Do one stack for 3 months or so and see what happens. If not much has changed try the other stack for 3 months.

IMO i'd say trib. zma. dhea.

I'm a calorie counter. I keep an excel spreadsheet of what I eat every day. Keep in mind that I have reduced my total calorie intake in hopes of losing my spare tire. Prior to February I was up around 2800+ calories a day. I also have to watch my sodium intake. I try to keep it under 2500mg a day. So here's what I had yesterday. Other days are pretty much the same. My workout is between 4:45 and 5:45 pm

        6:30 2 cups coffe 1/2 Cup Oatmeal

        9:00 2scoop protein 8 oz milk

12:00 PB & J Sandwich Tuna Pkg Hikry Smk 200

        3:00 2 scoop protein 8 oz milk

        16:00 Apple

        18:00 2 scoop protein 8 oz milk
Dextrose Sugar 40 grams, 10g creatine

19:30 Pork Chop Potatos Boiled 4 oz Broccoli Frozen 4 oz

Thanks. That's exactly what I was thinking, only I would like to hear some opinions. I do not want to waste time and money on something that isn't going to help.

Boy my last post sure didn't come out the way I arranged it. If you guys have trouble with it's contents I can fix it.

try using water instead. Alot of people say to remove dairy from your diet when trying to cut.

Two sandwiches seem like alot of bread in one meal, hopefully it's not white. Is the Jelly sugar free?

I'm trying to work in splenda. But it's not them same. Man I wish you hadn't said drop the mike. Using water sucks. And it's only one PB&J on wheat with sugar free jelly not two. The tuna is one of those starkist tuna packets just like in the can only with flavor. What about the staks I mentioned, any comments on those?

Don't know much about supplements. I'm sure someone will be able to better advise you on that and will probably help with your diet in further detail.

Oh and another thing I noticed is you should intake more protien. I would add in at least 50 more grams a day. The more muscle you can maintain the more fat you will burn.

ZMA is a joke, and Animal Stak is not going to help you because all the compounds that were in it are now banned. Tribulus will be good for a little sex drive, but it won't promote alot of muscle growth. I've always considered DHEA to be useless too, but your diet is what needs help. I'd change it first, then go from there.

Are you lifting heavy weights, and doing the correct training to gain mass. Post up your regimen, so we can see if there are fixable things there as well. No amount of supplements will help you unless you have a sound diet, and good workout regimen.

Thanks for the reply. I lift as heavy as my old ass will let me. I do pretty good at some things and not so good at others. I'm currently squating 280 for 6-8, leg pressing 430 for 6-8, military press 145 for 6-8, db press 65's for 6-8, shrug 225 for 10-12, leg curls 120 6-8, I do dips, rack chins, close grip bench, Barbell rows, pull down and others. These are the exercises I consider to be doing pretty good at. I am constantly adding lbs or reps to each of these and always feel tight when I walk out.

These are my weak areas. Barbell curls 95 for 4-6, Flat Bench 215 4-6, Incline Bench 190 6. No matter what I do I can't get add any extra weight or reps doing these exercises. When I walk out I do not feel tight like I do with the other exercises. So here is my schedule.

                    Sunday
                    Rack Chins
