  • I need recommendations for a mass builder

On power nutrition it looks like Serious Mass is the best selling mass builder

my goal is to gain between 15 or 20 pounds of muscle in no definitive timetable, i weight about 185 now, ultimately i'd like to be around 235 I think....i'll see how i feel around 215 or 220

right now i'm using ON whey protein and swole v2

another review i just read says serious mass is a horrible product and n-large 2 is much better

i'd also like to know how the taste is with the two? is it gonna be easy to swallow in water, will it mix well

ive noticed the vanilla whey protein is tougher to mix then the choclate, the choclate i believe tastes a whole lot better too, and i normally prefer vanilla

Well, first of all I would say nothing comes close to being as good as solid foods with the right amount of protein, complex carbs and healthy fats for adding quality mass.

However, if situations prevent eating solid foods, my personal recommendation is MHP Up Your Mass. It uses slow absorbing protein (casein protein), complex carbs from whole grain sources and healthy fats from flax seed and omega 3 fatty acids. Most mass gainers use whey protein, sugar, maltodextrin and unhealthy fats to make up the caloric content.

Nlarge 2 tastes great but anything with that much sugar better. I would highly suggest really doing your research on the nutritional makeup of any mass gainer shake before trying it and then I would try to use it as little as possible.

BTW, 15-20lbs of muscle (not just body weight) could take quite a while if you're doing it naturally-definitely over a year if you've been lifting for any considerable amount of time.

well my goal is about 2 years...I'm trying to play baseball in college and would like the extra muscle

I do eat alot, i'm eating the right foods but its getting expensive and sometimes i just have to force myself to eat...sometimes i'm just flat out not hungry and it'd be easier for me to drink a shake

If the choice is not eating or drinking a shake, definitely drink a shake! Try the MHP-best mrp shake I've seen, but try a different flavor than the chocolate fudge brownie first anyway. I don't know what the best flavor is.

If youre trying to play college baseball, size is really irrelevant. Youd be better off concentrating on strength, flexibility and bat speed.

As for a gainer, all over the counter weight gainers are garbage. Make your own meal replacement/weight gainer shake.

I'll have to agree with YJ...sure, coaches like size, but size alone doesn't perform. Don't just get big for the sake of getting big, become a good baseball player, and use training and nutrition to make yourself a better athlete and a better BASEBALL player. Richie Sexson and Shawn Green are both pretty skinny, and Bartolo Colon and Curt Schilling don't look anything near "in shape," but I'm sure your college coaches around NC would love to have them play for their teams
