Protein Powder You Currently Use

Here's an easy topic everyone can take part in...


Simple list the maker and the name of the protein powder you currently use. Also, rate it for us based on taste, ability to mix, pcost effectiveness, etc.

If we get a couple pages of responses, this could be an excellent reference thread and could eliminate some of the basic protein powder questions we get.
And frankly, Im quite interested myself in seeing what everyone uses and their honest opinion of it...

I am actually using the 6lbs EAS Simply Whey from Sam's Club. It doesn't taste as good (nothing that one packet of splenda or skim milk can't fix), but it mixes well and has a good profile, and is only $19 for 90-22gram servings.

I always used Opitimum before that.

I use Pro-Rated (Bavarian Chocolate flavor) from Costco. Pretty cost effective and reasonably tasty with milk, so-so with water. Mixing is a er, mixed bag. It seems like Pro-rated has a problem with their batch to batch control. I would get one tub that would mix fine in one of those shaker glasses, but the next one would be full of lumps.

Currently using Primaforce Substance WPI Grape. This stuff tastes amazing and mixes pretty well. Runs about $25-$30 for 2.5lb tub.

I use the HDT 5-1 from PN, It tastes good and I use water. It's pretty cheap espeacially since the dosage amount is in one scoop. Usually use 2 for postwork out and as MR though. It can have a bit of trouble mixing. I find when I add the dextrose pw and mix the powders together then add water it mixes alot better. As far as effectiveness, I like it and it dosn't bloat me or cause other problems.

Champion Nutrition, chocolate - tastes real good in milk or water - mixing is so/so but i use a hand held blender and it does the job in 4 secs - $30 for 5 lbs.

Taste - Well it tastes awesome in milk but I'm doing my best to cut and not drinking milk any longer so I'm kinda kicking myself for not buying the chocolate which tastes awesome in water IMO.

Ability to mix - Mixes great.

Cost effectiveness - $25 @ Power Nutrition

The taste of each is pretty good, of course the MM is top of the line... I mix everything in rice milk, so it comes out smooth and no gas.. No shake at night, I'm using a supplement at night that I don't want to interfere with absorbsion..

both are great as far as flavor goes. the whey mixes great and as with all Ceasin proteins, it takes a little more to get it to blend.
