Ephedrine and a UA

Is there any way possible that Ephedrine would or could pop a random drug test? A friend of mine is wanting to take some, but does not want to risk her job. Is there any way that it could pop for amphetamines? Thanks

1. ephedrine hcl is completely legal.
2. in the case that it wasn't, it would not show up as an amphetimine.
