check out our board sponsor's creatine page: http://www.allsportsnutrition.com/index.php?cPath=3 If creatine is working for you, you should add about 5 pounds right away, all water weight, though, but it will make your muscles look fuller. Eventually, if you find out you're a "creatine non-responder," and it isn't working for you, you can try one of the esterified creatines (creatine ethyl ester, for example), which promise better absorption
let us know how it goes

i would use kre-alkalyn. i hvae tried all creatines and that one to me is the best. that and Cee dont have to load but the kre-alkalyn (buffered creatine) 1.5gs is like 10gs of regular creatine monohydrate and without the water weight or stomach irritibility since it doesnt use sugar as a transport. i was really impressed with it too.. its cheap too.. like 11 bucks for 30days at 3gs/day at bodybuilding.com i believe i got it at (havent checked out the sponsors there yet) i would definately give that a shot if i were u

I think they're referring more to stomach bloating than water retention in general. You are correct-creatine allows the muscles to hold more water, but supposedly, some forms of creatine isolate the water retention to only in the muscles much better.Originally posted by ROCKILLERIsnt water weight essentially the idea behind supplementing with creatine? Helping your muscles retain water so that they can grow faster. Im not trying to argue here , just clarify what I thought I knew from reading.

lol, its thats only part of it. Refering to creatine "helping your muscles retain water so that they can grow faster" is not exactly correct. Volumizing your muscle it puts more water into your muscle. Theres not much prove that does anything but make your muscles look bigger. The theory is maybe hydrating your cells helps them grow.
Creatine is an amino acid (Arginine, Glycine and Methionine). The muscle size, enery, and strength gains of creatine are a result of increasing cellular energy production as creatine phosphate (phosphocreatine) and regenerating adenosine triphosphate (ATP) in skeletal muscle.
Without ATP, muscle contraction is not possible. Besides energy creatine buffers lactic acid build-up, & enhances protein synthesis, etc. etc. Do your own research if you want more...
Also, I would go with an E/C/Y instead of ECA. IMO it is a better stack & I see no reason not to use them together. You should drink more water while using creatine.Last edited by NYCmitch25; 01-30-06, 08:15 PM.
