Isn't it really low GI - I've seen people use it in protein pancakes etc...

Corn as a whole is a no no, but different carbs can be derived from it such as Maltodextrin (complex) & dextrose (simple). I don't know anything about waxy maize, but I'm guessing it is a by-product or product of some kind of processing.

Kind of like putting corn vs. ethanol in your gas tank. :nerdnew:

I've seen where waxy maize makes things "puffy" like puffed cereals, etc. - but I still don't see where it would be used as a supplement to anything...

You put corn in your tank? I should try that - it sounds a lot cheaper :P

I've always seen it used as a flour/starch etc for baking things (or for pancakes etc)...

Maybe we should let curls tell us what he is asking for :P....

Vitagro is the brand name for waxy maize, which is used post-anaerobic exercise in a fashion similar to dextrose/malto. Research shows much higher absortion speed for waxy maize as compared to dextrose/malto. The only drawback is that it's about 4 times as expensive as dextrose. Wanted to see if anyone uses this product and if they feel the results justify the cost.

                  thx.

Maybe it's 4 times as expensive because that appears to be the only "brand" on the market. I can't seem to find very much info about it....

The only info I can find is the claims from the Vitagro product label. thanks for looking, FB.

Anyone have any firsthand product knowledge?
