  • White Willow Bark

First I have this problem with very thick blood. Every time I draw blood it just takes forever and the nurses always comment at how slow it is. The first few times I figured I was just dehydrated. but this last time I made 100% sure I was fully hydrated and still the same thing thick blood. I guess this is from the steroids?
so my next question is will white willow bark help thin out my blood? If so how many MGs do you suggest and how often?
Is there something better I can use?
as always thanks for your time.

Wow... no offense, but are you serious? Sometimes you guys scare me with your nonchalant comments. If your blood is really thick, it is a matter of some urgency for your doctor to deal with, not a bulletin board. Untreated, it can cause heart attacks or strokes.

No offence takin, I just figured if the people that draw blood for a living didnt care to much why should I. I knew it wasnt good but realy didnt think it was that bad, as in stroke and heart attack. I also kind figured it is related to the cycles when on its thicker and off it goes back to normal, Just like everthing else!

you are probably making it sound more serious then it is. if the nurses etc.. never say anything i am sure it is fine.

doubt it has anything to do with steroids.

not sure what white willow bark would do. i do know however that fish oil has been proven to thin out the blood. so much so that surgeons will tell you to stop taking fish oil a few weeks before surgery. fish oil is the way to go.

Ya This is what I thought, If the nurses were not trippin why should I. They deal with blood all day everyday I figure they would know?

Fish oil I already take. How many MGs do you suggest? I thought white willow bark thinned the blood like asprin?

fish oil caps come in 1000mg dose per caps but they only have 300mgs total fish oil.

i take 6 1000mg caps per day. 3 caps in one meal and 3 caps in another.

White willow is the herbal aspirin, correct? So in theory, it should thin your blood at least a little. I do think it's worth a mention to your doctor next time you have an appointment, though.
