  • water or milk for sup. shakes?

I usualy like to mix my whey shakes with partly skimed 1% milk
cause I hate the way it tastes with water but I read today that milk contains allot of sugar. Anyone know how much sugar is in a cup of milk??? and should I try and get use to mixing with water?

I was using two protien shake a day now I'm going with one protein and a lein gainer shake before and after work out .

milk has 12 grams of naturally occuring sugar carbs per cup.....but it is very low glycemic as is most dairy products. I don't really count carbs per say....I just look for low glycemic indexes in the carb based foods I eat and have them in moderation. So go ahead and have it in milk.;)

I tend to bloat up with milk. I like to have my shakes with water or juice after a workout.

Pre/post workout shake= water, since I use Nectar

Any other shake, I use Rice Milk.. Lactose-free, fat-free, smooth mixing, and milled brown rice was never bad to me.. :)

Hyperlite nailed it. It totally depends on what you are trying to do. I'm in a bulking phase so i use 2% milk with mines for now.

Since I'm currently on CKD. I use Lactaid and powder on my refeed days to bump up my carbs. I'm lactose intolerant, and milk will make me EXTREMELY rough to around.

Doesn't the extra protein and lactose in the milk bloat you? I always bloat and get gas if I mix any protein with milk.
