Think I may have to give this shit a try and see what's what. How do I incorporate them into my preworkout c4 shake that already has caffeine and all that shit in there?
I tend to side with scrum here in that its probably insignificant but I'm willing to give it a fair and honest try.

OK so who uses them?
How do you incorporate them?
What brand/kind do you use?
What do you think they do for you?
Anyone found a good, economical BCAA supplement?
Ill be honest I have always felt a good diet nullifies the need for most supplements of this nature but I am open minded enough to hear what people have to say and share experience wise.
I take right before and during
MuscleMeds Amino decanate is the best one I've used. Love it.
I dont want to leave the gym great endurance boast and recovery seems smoother.
My body builds a tolerance to ANYTHING I take so I take a week or 2 off it now and then
Vitamin shop brand is economical and decent but not as good as others
Yeah a good diet can make this redundant but I haven't found that to be the case especially DURNING the workout. Your not eating a salad while your at the gym and its almost instant results.Last edited by jack tors; 02-11-16, 08:40 PM.

I take bcaa as an intra workout when doing cardio. Scivation xtend is pretty good

I honestly think you are wasting money with this karbolyn stuff. Drink some gatorade or something if you need to, or just add some glucose or malto to water and drink that. It will be just as effective. I looked through their site and their "research" is laughable.

I can post a lot more. That was just the first page of results. BcAAs causing fights up in the bitch lol. My only point is that while I agree with scrum on the supplement industry, some things are worth looking into after recent studies have shown their effectiveness. As for me I am only typically staying around .8-1gram of protein per pound of body weight so I may end up with the added benefit without having to have a constant full stomach and the associated problems with digestion that follow, just to meet my protein intake. Having abnormal motility disorder and acid reflux makes it hell for me to eat large quantities of food. If this supplement can offset some food intake and offer comfort than I'm all for it.

scrum im interested in your thoughts after you look through those studies.

Rado, again, I am not dismissing Chuck's links. I haven't had a chance to look through them but when I have researched BCAAs in the past, the studies have always had subjects that have had only 0.5 to 0.6g of protein per lb of bodyweight. In other words, by athletic standards, way under what we would consider adequate for muscle building. So, the studies could be merely saying that BCAA supplementation is effective IF you don't have adequate protein in your diet. I don't have the dara, but I would wager that the effect disappears if you get adequate protein in your diet. That's my skepticism.

Bro those links chuck found were found via.... You guessed it... Google. I love how you dismiss something from Google when it disagrees with your view but embrace Google when it agrees with your view. You can't have it both ways brohemian.Originally posted by rado View PostFor me, I'd take advice from some of those great sites chick posted. Scrum, I really wish you'd start posting REAL RESEARCH instead of all that bible thumping you usually do.. LMAO. This guy is off his fucken rocker. Rado, the weed has fried the few brains cells you had left. Let me guess, you didn't mean any of what you typed as you find it hard to convey your message on forums you've been on for 20 god damn years. Lmao

You seem to be suggesting that I have arbitrary fixed beliefs that I stick to, while in reality I am the exact opposite. I will go with scientific evidence every time, even if it proves me wrong. That's what a person who believes in the scientific method does.
Are you saying that we shouldn't debate empirical evidence but should just go with anecdotal data? Are you saying that you shouldn't quote studies, which by the way are done on human subjects, not mice?
I'm not sure what being an MD or physician has to do with understanding nutrition research. Yes, it helps to have a scientific background so that you can critically examine data, and some of the details of how the metabolic pathways work may need training in the field, but surely examining the experimental setup and the data should be doable to anyone with a high school science education.
Not trying to be argumentative, but your post is pretty confusing.
It's so much easier to talk in person...just makes better business;)

:thumb:I agree with this scrum....just when I read your posts and see how you at times can be so "pro" on certain things....fuck dude, you remind me of those bible thumpers trying to push the bible down my spine....ugh:xOriginally posted by Scrumhalf View PostNot my intention at all. Of course, there a lot of things like creatine that have been shown beyond a shadow of a doubt to be effective. There are many other things where the jury is out, and there are of course things that are flat out bullshit. I will always be the voice for informed, science and evidence-based analysis. If the experiments are well designed and the results are shown to be valid to statisitcal significance, then great! Otherwise, I reserve the right to call BS! :)

It's a wonderful thing to discuss....what's not so wonderful is to push others views aside. And I'm not going to go back and find examples either. I don't take anything personally, not anymore. What I don't necessarily like reading is when one member will post something and a few will always right away dismiss it as being wrong or just stupid.Originally posted by Bouncer View PostWhat is an open topic bro? I, like many others on here love helping others and we should ALL act accordingly and post about our views, real results, experiences, etc......NOT just shoot it down and be like...."well Google said so or I saw it on fucking greys anatomy so it's right" type of bs.
I've been guilty of this myself in the past.
