  • Newbie Bulking.. ?'s

I've been reading here for awhile learning how to bulk up.. I didn't want to just jump into it, because i know if I didn't maximize gains I'd be very discouraged. I've read the importance of atleast 6 meals a day with 1-1.5 grams of protein and 2.5 - 3 grams of carbs. Doing this by eating tuna, eggs, and meat. From my reading I haven't learned much about supplements nor the importance of..

I was curious how these would for a bulking diet...

    Optimum Nutrition (ON) 100% Whey
    G-Plenish GlutaGain Glutamine Peptides
    Syntrax Swole V.2
    Optimum Nutrition (ON) Opti-Men Vitamin

Please help me and I appreciate any information of the above products and if they would be suitable for a bulking diet.

Also any information on when (post/pre workout) you take the supplements and how much would help.

you supps look good. Don't forget you want those carbs to be clean i.e. brown rice, yams, whole wheat bread, etc. Stay away from simple carbs and watch out for high fructose corn syrup. I would add some flax oil or olive oil to your diet and some fresh vegetables. Good luck!

      Hi

I would divide up the distrubution of the following Supps into to two to three separte liquid meals

this should help make you diet easier (less bulky food) and should aid in a distinct boost for your goals

here is what the following do:

      1) Gplenish at about 3 table spoons per day
provide us anti catabolic properties by healing your bodies sytems faster, and increasing your ability to do more work over time and hence go father

      2) Around 3 servings of creatine a day provides ATP for Muscular contraction, and aloows you to do more work through your bodies anarobic systems.

      3) A good Whey protein, provides a good quick absorbing protien with a wonderfull amino acid profile which aids in being antibolic and building new muscle.

let me know if I can help more.

You might want to look into a good MRP if you can't seem to eat enough or a slower absorbing protein shake like egg before bedtime.

remember to go a little light on ur tuna intake, some types of it contain high levels of mercury. so dont have tuna as your primary source of protien.

Just get your total calorie intake near or above 4000kcals a day, no need for an excess of protien. Stick with complex carbs, remember carbs are your primary energy sources so if you want to get big you need energy to do all those killer workouts, so dont let your daily carb intake get below 50%. As for supplements if you wanna go that way try creatine. My opinion is stay away from the powder proteins and get your protiens in your regular diet, thit will process threw the body much easier and wont put as much pressure on your kidneys. Myself i overloaded on whey protien and had kidney pains for a while. So i would say basically stick with a high calorie balanced diet to get your bulk.

IMO, drop the glutamine and the swole... waste of money. many may not agree with me on this, but until i see any scientific evidence that this stuff works in any way shape or form - i can only believe in the placebo effect.
