  • What type of MRP do you all use?

I usually get Met-Rx, but there new shakes arent nearly as good as the old stuff.

Your best bet would be to go with a higher quality bulk form of protein such as whey isolate as most MRP's have poor quality blends that are set up to slowly digest to make you feel fuller longer. Hence, a meal replacement. Just make a shake from a good quality bulk protein such as Isopure and combine it with some good carbs and good fat, such as an apple and a hand full of almonds, to round out your snack meal and to help maintain satiaty. I like to have more than just a liquid meal. Your body needs the fiber and anti-oxidants that are in whole foods when combined with a shake. The bulk proteins are not only a better quality source of protein, but usually are much more cost effective. You pay alot for the individual packaging of each MRP in the box.

FYI - Met-RX MRP's have trans fats and are sweetened with aspartame. Not too healthy of a product that is suppose to be geared toward health. The company has been sold at least a dozen times and the quality has plummeted by today's standards. Same for EAS. These companies are simply staying in business by name recognition alone.

Like you, JACKAL, I also used to like the Met-Rx MRPs, but the new flavors are only one step up from vomit. I went back to Myoplex because I am cheap, although I would prefer Prolab's Lean Mass Matrix if I could find a hot deal somewhere. Even better, if you have the time to "make your own" (rather than empty a packet into a blender), you can consider adding some oatmeal and flax oil to Syntrax's Isomatrix Reloaded protein.

If I were going to use an MRP, it would probably be Glutaplex by NTI. They use a better quality blend of proteins, added Glutamine, and they mix well and taste great!!

I only use MRP's while cutting, odd yet effective for me... When I do use an MRP, it's Lean Mass Matrix by Prolab..

I like Ny Tro Pro 40 from AST. They mix up real easy in a shaker bottle which is good for me at work. I thought the MetRx sakes didn't mix up well. Beverly Int. has good mrp's but they cost a little more.

They have a good profile. So does the new Myoplex Deluxe, better carbs(oats, bran, etc.) than the old formula.
