I think I would've enjoyed it more in the Corps.. Many of my close buddies were Marines.. Yes, there is more of a mental edge towards your training, but Marines are supposed to be exclusive to fighting, at least that's what I got from my friends who are still in..

Air Force is still the bastard stepchild, I don't care!

but the air force got tired of being the Army's bitch, so the broke off to be left alone.

        Marines haven't wised up.

J/K J/K i'm just joking. I have lots of respect for the Marines. Couple of my friends are Marines and i've seen some of what they have to go through.

But i'm not joking about the air force:rofl: :3some:

That is correct, the Air Force was formerly the Army Air Corps.. I respect everyone who wears the BDU with pride, but most if not all the AF soldiers I've ever met were snobby lazy bastards, and this Army grunt and his Marine buds used to get in all kinds of trouble beatin' on them.. :D

LARGELI: it depends on the Base that a person goes to basic. I go to Ft. Lost in the Woods... er ... Lenerdwood.

Might be for the Army but its the same for all Marines though, b/c theres only two bases for boot camp. If you live west of the Mississippi you go to San Diego, if you live east you go Paris Island. Ones not easier then the other.

one has more sand then the other. And the other has more bugs then the other. Least that's what i've heard from Marines that i've talked to.

The PT test is set to your age group, you'll have 2 minutes to perform as many push-ups/sit-ups as you can.. You will do push-ups first, sit-ups after.. When done and graded in points, you'll have to run 2 miles in a set amount of time..

I had an old PT chart handy from my old armory, can't figure the age brackets for you.. Simple thing: train yourself to do as many push-ups as possible, time them if you can.. Do the same for sit-ups, find a good way for you to bang them out..

Hint: You can drop the angle of your knees abit, instead of your heels nearly touching your taint, keep them around 45degrees or so, then bang out 20 reps, rest 2 seconds, bang out another 20.. You'll do 100 in less than 1.5minutes, if your abs are strong enough.. ;)
what happens if you score high/low on the points?

it goes in your srb (service record book). when your up for promotions, they take your pt score into consideration along with a lot of other evaluation type scores.....in the Marines you get evaluated by how well you do your job, how high your pt score is, how squared away your uniform looks daily, how clean your barracks are, how well you score on the rifle range, etc.
other then that its good for bragging rights.

if you fail though, it could mean being recycled in boot camp. That means like if you are in week 6 of boot camp and you fail, you most likely will be dropped to the plattoon behind you until you pass.

If you are already out of boot camp and fail then you will be put on remedial pt. that means that on top of doing pt in the morning with your platoon, you will also have to go back to the barracks for pt in the afternoon on your lunch break until you pass.

I know this sounds stupid but does the time for the 2-mile run change depend on how well a person does during the Push-ups and sit-ups. I don't know why i'm asking but i think know and i just want to make sure. Like i said, i feel stupid asking this.

never mind. they decided that 42 push-ups wasn't enough. now it's 43. i failed by 1 cuse my recruter said he wouldn't count the one where he cracked a joke and i was in mid push-up. I barly made it up to finnish the last 5 i needed to do. he didn't count it cuze i squrmed my way up to rest. damn.

Your run time is pending your age, I had to run 2 miles in 14:35 when I was 22yrs old.. ;)

Remember, a stupid question is the one you never ask.. :)
