  • calf muscle theory

someone in this forum stated that some people will not see calve growth due to genetics and how their muscle and tendons are placed or something. I really cant remember how he said it but basically his point was that no matter how hard and heavy you train your calves, some will see little or no gains at all. Who agrees with this?

Stonecold said it and i totally agree. I for one have really big calves and always have and almost never train them and they stay big and hard. Im not nearly as big as my one friend and he has small calves. He trains them very hard and takes many supplements but cannot seem to ever increase his calf size. They do get defined but sorry for you calf impaired people... i strongly believe alot to do with it is genetics. Who knows that steroids can do tho...

yep that was me. I didn't say that you won't get gains, but those gains will be in proportion to what he can achieve genetically. I don't have too much trouble training calves. i train them once a month and I have to be careful that they don't get too big. it sucks for some guys but that is also a lot of pros get implants in their calves because for a lot of them it will always be a sticking point. just like I would like some in my tricepsl lol because they will always be small compared to my biceps. it sucks but I have to live with it and base my gains on that.

ps-this doesn't have to be called "calve training theory" it could be called general muscle theory-because it is the same for all muscles.
