  • Bi-tri??

I just recently started to do Bi's and Tri's together. Is there any benefit as to do Bi's before tri's or do Tri's before bi's???

I use to always do Chest/tri's together, just recently went to bi's and tri's together. Now I do Abs with chest.

Nothing wrong with working them together. When you work your chest you are also working tri's. Same with back and bi's.
Doing bi's and tri's is a good change up. I worked them last night. The blood only has to move from one side of the arm to the other. You'll get a great pump!

yeah, I do chest and tri's on the same day.
Have done bi's and tri's and really feel good and pumped.
Alternate between bi's and tri's rather than all bi's and then all tri's. By alternating you can actually rest less between the exercises.

similarly, by exhausting the opposing muscle group, you're making the muscles you're working work harder on the negative portion of the rep (i.e., when lowering a bicep curl, you can't rely on your triceps to help lower it slowly because they're pooped), thus working out each muscle more intensely. to answer whether or not it's better to work one out before the other, the answer is: both. mix 'em up, keep your muscles guessing. if i had to start w/ one initially i'd choose triceps as they have the most mass and will be most difficult to pre-fatigue. but your body will eventually get used to it, and i'd switch to bi's first then.

I find that it is easier for me to get a really good pump on triceps so I work them second so I have more energy for Bi's.

its interesting how these threads go on forever but no one really addresses the question... id say, start out with what ever you think needs more work. i always used to start with biceps but my tris started lagging so now i start with them. if your bis-tris are well proportioned, id say switch the order every few weeks, that way you can hammer your bis or tris before giving them a rest.

it also "tricks" your muscles into growing when you switch it up...

it doesn't matter which one you start with, just switch it up from workout to workout, so you can work on both when they are fresh and not give one an advantage over the other

it does matter if one isnt as developed as the other. prioritize your workout. hit what you think needs to grow more first. once they level out, then it doesnt matter what order

I do one excercise of tri's on chest day, one excercise of bi's on back day. Then I have a bi/tri day. I do tri's first, mainly because I seem more fatigued after bi's.

also remember, the tri is a bigger muscle than the bi, if you are worried that one is lacking--i would say work the bi first, and do "not so heavy tri", since it gets heavy work on chest day

I do all arm exercises on the same day

                              Biceps:
Bi DB or BB curls 1 warmup + 3 hard sets
Incline or Cable Curls 3 hard sets
                              Triceps:
                              Skullcrushers 1 warmup + 3 hard sets
                              Tricep pushdowns 3 hard sets
                              Forearms:
                              Hammer Curls 3 hard sets
                              Wrist Curls 3 hard sets

Done in 45 minutes or less
