When doing exercises like bench press or tricep extensions...or anything else is it good to squeeze at the top of the movement of just go up and down without squeezing?

yes the contraction of a muscle is good. using every once of fiber strength will give the muscle a good reason to grow to protect itself. remember you are trying to make it grow which it doesn't want to do.Originally posted by D Animal

Well i tried it today and mann the intensity wasss sooo good. I really felt the muscle working 2 its ful potenital......Believer maybe u should try it.Originally posted by believer

well just ask yourself how a muscle is threatened into growing, by using a physical exertion that says to it "Uh oh I better grow and get stronger to be able to handle that load again in the future". so if you are contracting harder at the top, which is really what it is not just squeezing, then it seems that that would lead to greater and faster gains than just lifing a weight without a good contraction.Originally posted by believer
