  • Should I skip cardio?

I've been trying to gain some weight, taking weightgainers, eating a shitload of food. But my metabolism is so crazy high I'm afraid to do the 30-40mins of cardio I would like, I don't want to burn any calories or pounds I have, cause they're so hard to get in the first place. After 3 weeks of 5000cals/day I've only gained 8 lbs.

I know cardio is good for my health, and for bloodflow and all, but should I wait? I figured once my muscles got to where I want them, I can do cardio and burn off any bodyfat I want gone, it won't take long.

Oh, and one last question. If you burn off fat too fast, will your muscles deteriorate? What bodyfat percentage would be safe to stop at?

    Thanx

I do not believe in doing cardio of season. I believe it burns of muscle. Your heart get plenty of work moving all the heavy iron around. To build muscle you need to lift heavy weights, eat enough food, get TONS of sleep & keep your life stress free.

I don't understand shoveling a ton of food in your mouth, then getting on a treadmill & burning it off. Experiment and find out how much is enough food, but not too much, so that you can build quality muscle.

    Save the cardio for cutting!

I only "shovel" in a ton of food because if I don't I don't gain weight. I haven't checked exactly, but I think I take in around 5000cals/day. At that rate I've gained 8 lbs in 3 weeks.

That's what I'm saying, it sounds like you are a "hard gainer" so doing cardio would be completly counter-productive to you. Sure I am a woman, but my goal is simular to yours........GAIN MUSCLE! I don't think cardio will help, but it will definatly hurt. It burns calories & muscle.

Are you on a cycle or are you natural?

I'm new to lifting, so I'm not sure what a cycle is? If by natural do you mean, not-on-steroids, then yes I'm natural.
