I never understood those things. Well i understand them, but what does it do to enhance benching?

It does give you a little pop off the chest, but it's mainly used for shoulder protection during heavy lifts. They are not comfortable at all. Although some guys have added 50 to 75lbs to their bench in one. I generally get about 30 to 35lbs out of it.

Well, things did not go as expected. I warmed up to my w/o weight(275) Got in the shirt took the weight and could only bring it down about 6". Loaded the bar to 315 and brought it to within 2" of my chest. Loaded the bar to 365 and as I was lowering the bar the shirt pulled it towards my kneck,my wrists bent backwards and I dumped the bar towards my face. If it weren't for very alert spotter(Thanks Dave and Bill) I prob wouldn't be here today. I'm gonna need alot more time in that shirt before this contest. Prob will go w/ al losser shirt.

Whoa man, be careful!!!! Sounds like a very lucky escape. Starts making me think of the risks I put myself under without a spotter, not that i handle such huge weights, but its still dangerous.

I've pulled 145 off of some rather large people before---It always pays to have a good spotter. Safety first...
