I workout a muscle a day except for shoulders and back(do those on the same day). Everytime I workout I do new exercises for that muscle every workout. I do this to shock the muscle every workout, is this good or should I do a routine then change it up every few weeks?

Re: Workout Question??
of course then there is no way to tell if you are progressing on your lifts if you change them ever workout.Originally posted by Alx

sure he can, it'd be impossible to never cycle back to the same exercises. Alx as long as you're keeping a log, you'll know you're making progress. although sc's right too, if you don't do a specific exercise often enough you won't make decent progress on that specific lift.

well I like to progress each workout and know that I am. If he changes a routine up he may eventually do the same workout but it might be awile and then he might have a lot of wasted time in between those workouts where he wasn't progressing. A good time for a program is about 6 weeks and THEN change it up. it gives you enough time to make progress and learn from it but not enough time that if it isn't working you don't get depressed from it.Originally posted by psyko1
