Well, it varies from person to person, but if I were to do that I would consider it overtraining. I would stick to 4 days a week lifting (max) and 1 day cardio, giving you two rest days to recover; if you can squeeze cardio in on your workout days then even better, you can have more rest days. But if you're doing intense cardio remember to do it after your workout and not before; you want to have your maximum mental and physical strength and freshness for when you lift. And above all remember, rest is just as an important part as training when it comes to building muscle. Good luck!

how long have you been training. I am guessing under 6 months (maybe 7-8 months at the longest).

i train 6 days a week and do not feel it to be overtraining. i train in the morning - so it actually has started to be a nice kickstart to my day.

        m - back
        tu - chest
        w - legs
        th - shoulders
        f - arms
        sa - off
        su - abs and calves

since abs are done sporadically throughout the week and calves are just 2 exercises usually - i consider it an off day as well.

personally - if your body feels right and you're still seeing progress, no need to change it up.

          Bump on above post.
I ONLY see gains when I work out very high frequency.

Then again, I take a week off every month to heal up. SO, who knows?!

I train six days a week with 15 sets per workout and never feel overtrained. Only time I feel weak is in the morning if I haven't had enough carbs.

SC was on the right track....It varies from person to person based on MANY factors...MOST importantly their current level of fitness.

When I was in College--Between Seasons--I would train 6 times a day ... Twice a day (45min/session) I had been training 4-6 times a week during season (Our seasons were about 8 months long --dont ask)

During the 6x2 I basicly TRIED to get into overtraining for 3 weeks then would back off the rep range, lengthen the rest period...and INCREASE the weight I would lift, for about 3 weeks then start the whole thing again

<just to get you guys thinking -- I woluld basicly condense a mesocycle into a weeks time...then stay above a detraining and under overtraining>

So, It really depends on the individual.

if you were training at the right frequency you wouldn't need that month to heal up, something to think about bro.
