  • Right pec is really tight?

My right pec is really tight, what should I do? Take time off from doing chest exercises and just work on other body parts, while I give my chest a break? Its my outer upper pec. Has anybody experienced this?

No,I am not on gear. When I stretch my right pec I can really feel the tightness. There is pain, but not like a ohh shit this hurts pain, more like a streching pain as to why my pec is so tight pain. Ahh,crap this is so hard for me to explain:confused: I have never felt this tightness before in my pec as I stretch. I am just scared this is an early sign of a "torn pec to come".

No,Major, when I did chest last Monday the 26th of July I did not notice any pain or discomfort. Did not notice this feeling I am having while I stretch until 3 days later, after I did chest.
If you go to this web site and go down to where the lady is doing chest complex exercises the 3rd exercise she is doing is what I usually do to strech the chest. http://www.naturalphysiques.com/cms/...php?itemid=159

ha that lady needs a t-shirt! Anyway...How long have you been training? Were you doing any new lift's? Are you right or left handed? Is it still sore a week later? Were you using more weight/reps than usual? soooooooo many questions...

but my initial thought is that you are just REALLY sore (even a low grade strain). Work through discomfort but not into pain.

I know that is very general and even a bit canned...but it is a great rule of thumb...

Sounds like you simply just used the muscle different, or pulled it slighty a different way while lifting. Nothing to worry about. get back to it when you feel ready. People are to worried about missing a workout to the extent of it's going to mess up months of training. One thing about learning to train is learning to listen to your body and understand it.

That is exactly how I feel. You hit it right on the nose. I have been training for about 4 yrs now,I am right handed,weight/reps didn't change. I don't know maybe I just pushed a little harder than usual,I'll give it a week off just to be safe.
