  • When you lift your arms above your head your chest disappears

When you lift your arms above your head and your chest disappears, I thought that decline pressing would fix this but in Arnold's encycoledpia he recommends doing incline presses at various angles to solve this, so what is it, decline or incline

decline targets your lower chest, incline targets your upper chest

add some beef, lol easier said than done seems to help to have thick back as well in the stance.
Whats your chest workout look like bro?

Put up some pic's and we can probably help you out with what your're looking for. DG hit it on the head...THICKNESS is the key. As far as Arh-nuld's book it is a great book to START with. Please remember that there is not just 1 exercise that will give you the look your wanting. Because you asked about decline...I am guessing that the lower "line" of your chest is what goes away?

The Oak will be the first to tell you to work incline to build your chest into a shelf (not just something that looks like a wedge stuck to your ribs). Decline does a number of things ... but working the "line" it does not. If it is deffinition that you are wanting it is always a combonation of 2 things...SIZE/THICKNESS and being lean!

Hmmm...I'm super tired....and will check back tomorrow

DG....You dont look like you've had this type of problem for quite some time ;)

Well first of all I would like to know what your worried about that for. Do you compete? If so I understand. And just like DG said, there isnt really one workout that is going to make the problem go away. Basiclly you just have to add more mass.

what's your diet look like? when your chest disappears, it means you need to add mass. regardless of how many variations of declines, inclines and whatnot your doing, if you're not eating to feed growth, you won't grow.

I too have a hard time with lower chest. You just have to work at it. Eventually you'll gain the size you need to start to see it. Just keep doing those lower chest exercises and you'll do fine.

as was said by numerous people overall mass will solve this problem. and on a side not. the actual difference between incline flat and decline bench isn't much different. just pick one that feels the best contraction and use it as your main movement.

It sounds like you are focusing on what most people call "shaping exercises" Once again ... you are wanting to add mass! Stick with the basic lifts...Bench Press (BB not DB), Incline and Decline. (although the Hammer Strength Decline or Wide chest is a good ending exercise).

As far as the cable cross adn the pull overs I would let them go for now. Infact...I would not even group a pullover as a chest exercise (although I know that some would---but the action does NOT match with the pecs:))

PUSH your self on the core lifts!!!! That is the best way to add the mass!!!
