  • leg?

when doin squats or leg presses how close do your feet go for outer quads? (compared to your shoulders farther in or?) my quads are thich but not wide. thanks.

I used to have toothpicks for legs when I started working out.

I squat like a powerlifter now....legs about 2 inches outsied shoulder width. I think it has really helped with my outer quad sweep.

      On the INSIDE???? Hmmmm.......

      ANYWAY-

...Not so much. If I feel it there, it's usually when I do hack squats. I don't spread them as far as a powerlifter would, just sumo style.....I usually do 4 sets, and 1-2 of them I will bring my feet into shoudler width, so my mediallis gets some attention.;)

Squats are so complicated with angles and stance, high bar and low bar. Proper placement and body position rely heavily on the proportion of you body. Eg: longs and short torso or vice versa. The most important thing to go for the feel. If you don't feel it in your legs it ain't working. Try experimenting with stances, bar position and even hand width. I even do days where i just work on form and feel, squatting only 5 to 8 reps with weight that I would normally do for more. I prefer to go what I call narrow. Wide stances have always seemed to bring my hips and ass into the lift too much.

heres what i do take a 25lbs plate place it under the squat rack on the floor and put your feet on the sides of it, since the plate is round it will automatically angle your feet out a tad.

I try to be as careful as possibe when doing squats... that can just destroy your knees if you do it the least little bit wrong.

thanx for the tip Vander! I'll have to try that one.
