  • dumbell chest presses

Wow, never had an awesome workout like the one i had today. Today was the first tme i ever used heavy dumbell presses and see how effective they are. Since i joined a gym from training here at home. There was nothing wrong with htraining here at home but it got boring for me and i did have all the olympic weights i needed. But no dumbells, highest i got was 50's.

Well i did chest and triceps and gotta say , it all went well. I felt the stretch awesome. Im gonna use them for 5 more weeks and then change up the workouts. I did this today.

    CHEST:

dumbell presses: 1 light set, 3 sets with the 90's for 8 reps

incline: (it was an incline old school machine, seen Dorian Yates using it in some m&f mags) they use plates only
did: 4 sets of 8 reps

pec dec: 3 sets of 8 reps
    dips: 3 sets
    -----------------------
    TRICEPS:

rope press downs: 3 sets of 6-10 reps
lying one arm extensions: 3 stes of 8 reps
overhead extensions: 3 sets of 6 reps, weight was heavy with good form.

I got a awesome workout, but yeah the dumbells work awesome.

I love the db presses at the gym for chest and shoulders. I'll be hitting the chest tomorrow morning for my weekend workout!

hey but do they work the chest in a different way than regular barbell presses. I felt more of a stretch. As in growth wise too.:)

It hits your stabilizers more than the bar does. Plus you're able to go a little bit lower than you can with a bb for a great stretch. I feel bb is better for more power and mass, but db's are great for adding in detail. When I first started working out, db's were all I used for chest. Went from using 45's to 110's in a year. Chest filled in great.
