  • Elbow Pain

I was doing my triceps workout yesterday and starting feeling a pain in my lower elbow. I don't think it's the bone but maybe the medial tricep head. It's somewhat sore right now, but yesterday, it only hurt while doing lying db skull crushers and not on any other excercises. You guys think it's the bone? Or is it where the muscle connects to it?

i usd to have that simialr probel bro when doing certain triepc exersices about 3 years ago. When i began doing scull crushers, the pain was nasty. Around the funny bone area. After a while it went away. I guess i had bad form at the time, but now i used light weight to get hte form right and increased it as time went by.

it might be a tendon, which means you need to be very careful...

like JUICE said, do lighter weight and use perfect form. if the pain continues or you feel it during other tri workouts then talking to a doctor might be in your best interest.

i get this afterlong periods of heavy lifting. it also flared up the other day after working bis befor tris. my bis were very pumped which limits range of movment. when i do skull crushers or french curls my bi hits my forearm before the rep is fully complete. this seems to cause a pulling on the joint. ice it up a bit. pron tendons. go light. or work legs and take a few days off. easyer said than done i know

Form is perfect bro, always. But pain is still there. But only on db and bb skulls. Not on close grip, reverse cable extensions, press downs, etc. I don't even think a lower weight would help since the stress will still be there.

I used to have a similar pain in my right elbow. It only happened on overthehead extensions whether one or two handed. It felt like a tendon was stretched across my elbow joint and was being pulled really hard. I could actually move something in it to release the pressur but when I started my next rep it would go back to normal. I haven't had it for a year or two now but I don't know what fixed it or healed.

That sounds exactly like what I have. I still have it though. I was doing bb skulls yesterday and it felt like it was on fire on the first set, but the second set was good to go. Who knows, guess all wounds heal with time.

i have pain in my right elbow-- i pull a elbow wrap over it and lift- any pushing excercise and it will hurt- breaks of the heavy weight game - skullcrushers on the other hand kill it!!

Be carefull a friend had simillar elbow pain and would continually work throught it, he eventually tore a tricept while benching. His doctor explained that the pain was a sign of tendon damage which eventually led to the torn tricept.

I think that is what I had and just never let it heal. I think the heavy eq cycles I have done in the past few years helped to turn it back healthy plus plenty of time off.

I had that problem in both my elbows.I started streching my forearms which helped. But I had some a.r.t. done and the problem just about gone.

I have similar problems in both elbows. It has been diagnosed as tendonitis. I can get over it if I watch my form carefully during both tricep and bicep exercises and ice afterwords. I also found that if I stopped some tricep exercises just barely short of full extension it helped a lot.

tman is correct-stretching forearms helps too for some reason. It just takes a lot of care and a lot of time to heal, and it can come back very quickly if you're not careful.

                          Good luck!
