when I've done shoulders for the about the past month, my shoulders burn like hell, and just about after every set I have to hold my arms, if I let them hang I can barely stand it. Any suggestions to avoid this would be welcomed. And yes I stretched and did 3 warm up sets before increasing weight, my first exercise was military press on the smith machine, and after about the 3rd set my shoulders are on fire. I cant get rid of the pain until about a half hour after my workout.
    Thanx

like a muscular burn? damn that sounds painful. I would back off on the workouts before the pain sets in. Try just three sets of three different exercises and see if the same thing happens. give a full 3 minutes inbetween sets.

yeah I think that is what I will have to do, its like when the blood reaches the muscle it gets such a pump that it becomes painful, and there is no permanent damage because once I stop it subsides within a half hour

I get that in my shoulders. If I push them early in my workout, it does not matter how much weight I use for the last few sets, it burns and feels way too heavy. I have cut some sets out and increased my rest time. I went from 60 seconds between sets to 120 to 180 seconds depending on the burn.

to follow up on that, listen to your body......if you feel like you cannot go on, it's likely your body is saying something
