Try supersets, with 10 second rest after your first set of say bench and then go do a set of pull-ups and then rest 90 seconds. Or you can cut your rest to 30 seconds tops. You will have to drop some weight if you are a regular talker and not a stickler to timed rest, but the returns far outweigh any ego.

Re: resting between sets?
you should only wait long enough so your heart rate doesn't drop. No one can tell you at what point that is. If you do continuous workouts with your sets close you will get anaerobically conditioned which means your heart rate will drop faster after a set so to keep a higher rate you will need to keep your sets closer and closer to the point where they are almost supersets. But this is the extreme obviously.Originally posted by ROCKETW19

Re: Re: resting between sets?
I actually often wear a heart rate monitor and follow this type of training advice. I try to keep my heart rate above 115-120. This seems to work pretty well.Originally posted by stonecold54
