Well thanks, but I have to humble myself enough to tell you I didn't site that from memory. I had my Principles of Human Anatomy and my Care and Management of Athletic Injury books in front of me to get it from my head to you correctly.

And this is why I like this board, I presented a problem, and was given back several solutions, a healthy (meaning no personal attacks etc) discussion on whether to train through the injury, links on how to prevent it, the exact nature of the injury, etc. I browse several other boards, but don't know of any where people wouldn't be flaming the shit out of eachother for disagreeing. Thank you everyone for your input!

okay, so yesterday was leg day and i warmed up nice and carefully... I began squatting all the way to the floor, and it felt good! I had one rep where i tried stopping parallell just for comparison, and could feel the stress concentrated in my knee area. by comparison, when doing ass to heel squats the stress is spread throughout the hammies and glutes, and i had no noticable pain whatsoever. I'll start slowly building up on weight again. thanx everyone!

Do you have a knot at the proximal (top part by the knee) area of your tibia?

Bro, I have been trying to spread this like wildfire! I wish more bros would listen. Maybe I will save all these "ATF saved my knees" type threads and just link bros to them!

I started doing ATF squats in the past. Damn did they feel awsome. No cheating about it either. I had to drop the weight down to about 245lbs from my typical 335lbs squats, but it didn't matter to me. Well, then I hurt my back, first from benching, then squating. This thing has been hurt for almost a year now. Damn muscle won't heal and it's killing me that I can do ATF squats until I get it resolved.

I've been spreading the story at my gym, got one new guy trying it out already. shibby, i don't have a knot that i'm aware of, at least not one i can feel by palpating the area. i did have some nasty injuries in the knees a while back, but they haven't been problematic for a long time.
                      i'll keep spreading the word!

Cool, That just gives me an idea of how bad it was getting. People that constantly have problems with the patella tendon and people who grew tall fast at a young age usually will have the knot. That what happens when the patellar tendon tears away from there and then scars up.
